Hijack Season 2 posts low Rotten Tomatoes score after Apple TV premiere
Movieweb reports that Idris Elba's Hijack Season 2 premiered on Apple TV on Jan. 14 and opened to poor reviews, posting an initial 58% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The new season shifts the action to an underground train in Berlin and resumes two years after Sam Nelson stopped a plane hijacking from Dubai to London. Season 1 earned a 90% approval rating and was quickly greenlit for a follow-up; early reviews for Season 2 have been described as more polarizing and frequently "convoluted." Katie Doll of CBR wrote, "Hijack surrenders itself to the predictable, running almost the exact same route as the first season. Except this time, it's a painfully disjointed and thematically trifling ride."
It is early days and a lot could change between now and the finale: only 19 reviews have been published so far, and more will likely be added as the season's eight episodes are released weekly.
