Hilary Knight and Brittany Bowe Engaged in Milan

Olympic speed skater Brittany Bowe and Team USA women’s hockey captain Hilary Knight announced their engagement on February 19, sharing a video on Instagram of Knight proposing and Bowe saying yes. Knight captioned the post, “Olympics brought us together. This one made us forever.” The couple first connected during the 2022 Beijing Winter Games.

Their early dates were shaped by COVID-19 restrictions—masked, socially distanced and even separated by plexiglass—but those conditions helped them focus on getting to know one another. “We were kind of just living in this bubble in Beijing,” Bowe told Vogue. Knight coordinated a surprise that began with a walk through the Olympic Village and involved Bowe’s sister; after a visit to the Prada museum, a posed photo turned into the proposal.

Knight presented a thin band with inlaid diamonds, and the pair celebrated over coffee and a FaceTime call with family.
