Hoddle criticises Saka's 'flat' reaction to Wolves draw
Arsenal surrendered a 2-0 lead at Molineux as Hugo Bueno and Tom Edozie struck late to earn Wolves a 2-2 draw, a result that hits the Gunners' title bid and hands Manchester City a five-point boost with a game in hand. Captain Bukayo Saka admitted the mood was low after the game.
"It’s very flat [the dressing room]," he told Sky Sports. "I’m very disappointed with the result and especially how we played in the second half, it’s far from the level that we’ve set this season." He later urged the squad to "reflect on the few performances and just fix the issues immediately so we can get back to winning games and going on a run and build momentum because we’ve lost that a bit right now." Former Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle criticised Saka’s leadership, saying the captain had been "very honest" but that his demeanour "wasn’t right." Hoddle added that a skipper's body language should lift the group, arguing Saka had appeared "very flat, very flat" in his post-match interview.
