New co-op Horizon game Horizon Hunters Gathering announced
Guerrilla Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed the next chapter in the Horizon franchise Thursday: Horizon Hunters Gathering, a co-op action game coming to PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. Teams of up to three players will face the machine dinosaurs the series is known for.
"Combat is tactical, reactive, and deeply skill-based, building on the tactical precision of the Horizon games while embracing the dynamics of team play," reads the PlayStation Blog announcement post. Two game modes were revealed: a wave-based mode and a "multi-stage trial" with varying challenges and rewards.
Players take on unique Hunters that resemble characters from a hero shooter and kit them out with a "rogue-lite perk system" for builds. The art style also shifts away from the post-apocalyptic realism of the mainline games toward something closer to a cross between a generic hero shooter and Fortnite.
