House of the Dragon season 3 trailer teases June release
House of the Dragon season 3 is set to arrive sometime in June, the first trailer reveals. The footage finds both Team Black and Team Green in disarray: after attacking his brother King Aegon Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) at the end of season 2, Aemond Targaryen now sits on the Iron Throne.
His mother, Alicent (Olivia Cooke), appears to have had a change of heart and plans to help Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) and her dragonriders reach the Red Keep to reclaim her place. The trailer cuts between bloody battles on land, in the air and at sea, and includes a moment in which Rhaenyra's eldest son, Jacaerys, warns that Alicent cannot be trusted.
Tensions extend off-screen as well. Early on the relationship between George R.R. Martin and showrunner Ryan Condal seemed friendly—Condal even recreated Martin's likeness in a Weirwood tree and brought Martin to the set—but a September 2024 blog post marked a sharp turn.
