How a Shoulder Pad Put Void War in Steam DMCA Jail — Kotaku

Void War, a Warhammer-inspired FTL mash-up, returned to Steam after being removed last month following a DMCA takedown. Games Workshop confirmed the notice was theirs and said their concern was limited to a specific trailer shot, citing what they described as "the oversized convex shoulder pads with a metallic rim" that could create the mistaken impression of an association with Games Workshop.

Developer Tundra pulled the trailer to get the game back on the store page. "While we disagree with their assessment, the simplest way to get the game back up and avoid getting bogged down in DMCA process was to remove that trailer and move on," the studio wrote.

Elsewhere, Nexxon signed a cooperation agreement with Blizzard to help develop a project in the StarCraft universe, and previous coverage suggested Blizzard is working on bringing back StarCraft as an open-world first-person shooter. There may be an announcement or a tease at BlizzCon 2026.
