Emotes in Nioh 3 are gestures that let your character pose and communicate — examples include high five, bow, point, pray and beg. They’re handy in co‑op play, and can also charm certain enemies to net you loot; only two foes respond to emotes: Nurikabes and Mujinas.

To open the gesture menu, hold R1 and press the options button on a PS5 controller, or press G on PC. The menu offers a variety of emotes across several pages.

Nurikabes appear disguised as walls, and you can remove a talisman from behind them. Look for bloody graves nearby, which can hint at the specific emote that will charm a Nurikabe.

Mujinas are badger‑esque yokai that sometimes spring from chests and transform into a ninja. When one appears, copy the emote it performs immediately, or you’ll have to fight it.
