HP announced at CES 2026 that it is upgrading its OmniBook laptop portfolio with Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 chipset and OLED displays across the range.

Qualcomm first unveiled the Snapdragon X2 in September 2025 and positioned it against Apple's M4; early benchmark tests reportedly outpace the Apple chip, ZDNET said. HP will offer the X2 alongside Intel Panther Lake in some models, aiming to boost performance and battery life.

The first model to showcase the changes is the OmniBook Ultra 14, which features a 3K OLED display and options for Snapdragon X2 Elite or Intel Panther Lake. HP said the design is 5% thinner than the M4 MacBook Air 13 and weighs 2.81 pounds, and the Ultra 14 includes three Thunderbolt 4 ports, external 8K monitor support and up to 64GB of RAM; it is due to launch later this month starting at $1,550.

HP claims the 16-inch OmniBook 3 will reach up to 45 hours on a single charge. ZDNET's Kyle Kucharski wrote that figure may sound ambitious but called it plausible given a 2025 OmniBook 5 test that lasted 25 hours; he added that hands‑on testing will be needed. HP plans a phased rollout: OmniBook 3 and 5 models arrive in February (starting at $500 and $850), with OmniBook 7 and OmniBook X coming later in the spring and pricing to be announced closer to launch.
