Movieweb reports that Hugh Jackman stars in the first trailer for The Death of Robin Hood, a dark, gritty reimagining of the outlaw legend directed by Michael Sarnoski and picked up for distribution by A24.

The footage presents an aged, battleworn Robin Hood—Jackman appears with long, unkempt grey hair and a beard—grappling with a lifetime of crime and murder. The ensemble cast includes Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett and Noah Jupe. The official synopsis says the wounded loner is taken in by a mysterious woman who offers him a chance at "salvation", and the report notes that older versions of the legend showed a more vicious outlaw.

A24 plans to release the thriller in 2026. Jackman said the film "examines how power can be used for good or bad" and called Sarnoski's story "beautiful and human." Sarnoski described the project as a passion piece he wrote before coming onto A Quiet Place: Day One and has been developing alongside his larger studio work.
