Kotaku offers ten tips for new Hytale players, noting that familiarity with Minecraft helps but that several small differences and new systems can trip players up. The guide says Hytale is not on Steam, Epic or GOG — developer Hypixel is selling early access only through the game’s own site and launcher — and consoles are not available yet.

Early priorities include finding the Forgotten Temple Gateway, a nearby portal that teleports you to a hub where you register creature Memories to unlock craftable items. Other practical differences: sticks drop from trees and bushes rather than being crafted from wood blocks; trees obey gravity and fall when you cut the base; you’ll need a large house to fit many workbenches (eight essential, four optional); chests placed next to workbenches supply materials automatically; Repair Kits restore tool durability but require Linen Scraps, Light Leather and Iron; iron is scarce and typically found deep underground in caverns with tough foes; you keep about two‑thirds of your inventory on death while the rest drops with a compass marker; and you can build teleporters to speed travel once you upgrade workbenches and gather rare materials.
