I Really Hope We Aren’t Actually Getting A New Resident Evil Game Every Year
I hope Capcom doesn’t spoil Resident Evil Requiem’s momentum with an annualized release roadmap. A leak from RE insider AestheticGamer, formerly Dusk Golem, lays out a proposed pipeline: Resident Evil Requiem – February 27; Resident Evil Requiem DLC – TBA 2026; Resident Evil – Code: Veronica Remake – 2027; Resident Evil Zero Remake – 2028; Resident Evil 10 – 2029.
That is a relentless amount of zombie knifing action. Some fans might think the rumor sounds too good to be true; others worry it would be too much. Hype for Resident Evil Requiem is high—Leon is back, previews have been strong, and it has been years since the last mainline and remake entries—so four remakes and sequels in four years could feel like overkill for a franchise at its peak.
Elsewhere: Apex Legends has a new roadmap that includes two new characters in 2026, and lead Legend designer Brett Marting says skin choices try to match a Legend’s personality. A modder replaced the Monkey Ball character in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds with Kid Goku on his Nimbus cloud.
