Ify Nwadiwe on hosting Um, Actually and season 11
Ify Nwadiwe hosts Um, Actually, the Dropout quiz show that asks contestants to spot and correct small errors about fandoms ranging from Pokémon to Batman to Dungeons & Dragons. Season 11 opened with Garrick Bernard, Thundercat and comics writer Cody Ziglar nerding out over Dragon Ball and Jujutsu Kaisen.
Brian David Gilbert serves as the on-air fact-checker, and Nwadiwe took over hosting in 2024 from longtime collaborator Mike Trapp. Nwadiwe says Dropout approached him when Trapp stepped down, and that his run as a frequent contestant — including a rivalry with Dimension 20 GM Brennan Lee Mulligan — made the timing feel right.
After a final win over Brennan and Siobhan Thompson, he decided it was time to move into the host’s chair, a role that lets the playful rivalry continue from a new position. As host, he leans into the show’s conversational side, treating it as a panel show with game elements and opening the floor for guests to gush about nerd lore.
