In BBC One’s Industry the stakes get even higher, and hornier, as Harper (Myha’la) heads up her own fund while Yasmin (Marisa Abela) cosies up to MPs and her new husband, Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington), is noticeably absent. The episode is bolstered by new cast members Max Minghella, Kiernan Shipka and Charlie Heaton.

Other evening highlights include Jamie’s Feasts for a Fiver on Channel 4, where Jamie Oliver cooks budget-friendly but elaborate dishes such as a brunch of French toast crumpets with smashed minty peas standing in for avocado. BBC One’s Lynley returns with a missing-persons case that turns sinister, exposing dark secrets and dating-app connections between its twin leads Tommy (posh) and Barbara (not so much).

On U&W, Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake begins with tears as a one-year-old chow chow, Nugget, is handed in, while joy arrives in the form of 10 Belgian malinois puppies. On BBC Two Lucy Worsley continues her investigation into the Victorian “Thames torso murders”, and in examining the fourth victim she uncovers a potential perpetrator and his motive.

Channel 4’s Walter Presents offers the Dutch thriller The Ring, about lawyer Anna (Hannah Hoekstra) whose theft from a client leads to blackmail and lies. Live sport coverage includes the men’s FA Cup third-round tie Liverpool v Barnsley on TNT Sports 1.
