Insect locations in Heartopia

Insect catching is a hobby you can unlock in Heartopia that lets you catch a variety of bugs around the island. Many species are available, and levelling the hobby opens access to more; some insects only appear under specific weather or at particular times of day.

To catch bugs, equip your green bubble wand and click or tap the wand icon, or press "F" on PC to swing it. The wand sends a bubble straight ahead to catch any insects in its path. Certain creatures only show up during the "Bait the Insects" event at Onsen Mountain, which Naniwa starts periodically or you can trigger yourself for a small fee.

Leveling the insect hobby unlocks new bugs and passive abilities that boost bug star quality, extend your net’s range and durability, and occasionally grant a random "double catch." Some higher-level insects won’t spawn unless the in-game time or weather matches their requirements.
