Intel expands XeSS 3 multi-frame generation to all Arc GPUs
Intel has rolled out XeSS 3 multi-frame generation (MFG) to every Arc-powered GPU with its WHQL-certified 32.0.101.8509 drivers. The update lets owners of Alchemist and Battlemage discrete cards — including models like the A770 and B850 — enable XeSS 3 MFG as an override in Intel's Graphics Software app, and it also works on integrated GPUs in Meteor Lake, Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake processors thanks to the presence of XMX units across the lineup.
XeSS 3 MFG requires a game that already supports standard XeSS frame generation (version 1.1 or later). The roster of XeSS-enabled titles remains small compared with games that support DLSS or FSR, and with this rollout AMD is now the only major GPU vendor without multi-frame interpolation.
In Cyberpunk 2077 on a Core Ultra 9 285K test system using the integrated iGPU (512 Xe shaders, 2,000 MHz boost), a Medium preset at 1080p ran about 20 fps.
