Iran’s foreign minister said the United States did not ask Tehran to stop enriching uranium during talks in Switzerland this week. Abbas Araghchi told the MS NOW show "Morning Joe" that "they have not offered any suspension, and the U.S. side has not asked for zero enrichment," and that Iran was preparing unspecified "confidence-building measures" to show its program is peaceful.

His remarks conflicted with the Trump administration’s public stance. President Trump has demanded Iran give up its nuclear program, including by agreeing not to enrich more uranium, and Steve Witkoff called enrichment an absolute "red line." A White House official disputed Mr.

Araghchi’s account, saying the president had been clear that Iran could not retain the capacity to enrich uranium or build nuclear weapons. Iranian and U.S.
