Is Sharon Goodwin Leaving Chicago Med? Why Her Job Is On the Line
A report from Nbc says Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson), the Gaffney hospital director on Chicago Med, saw her job nearly land on the chopping block in the January 21 episode Frost on Fire after board member Miranda Lewis (Orlagh Cassidy) pressured her over a nepotism request and budget cuts.
While boarding a private jet to meet a top hospital stockholder, Goodwin noticed Miranda acting strangely after a slow-speed collision and demanded an assessment. She discovered Miranda was internally bleeding from a chest injury and, with limited supplies and virtual guidance from Dr. Naomi Howard, explained the risks, secured consent, and performed emergency surgery on the plane.
Goodwin successfully saved Miranda, who later showed signs of recovery at Gaffney, and the piece notes it would be hard to believe Miranda would still be eager to see Goodwin terminated after that. Find out what happens to Goodwin next by watching Chicago Med Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC and the next day on Peacock.
