Isaac Mizrahi is marking his 10th year performing a cabaret residence at the Café Carlyle in the Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side and has a cameo role in the film "Marty Supreme," according to a New York Times profile published Feb. 3, 2026. The show, which reopens the Café Carlyle’s season each January, had a working title of "A.I.

Artificial Isaac," though Mr. Mizrahi said “there’s no A.I. in the show.” His act mixes covers from the American Songbook, Billie Eilish and Reggie Lucas with original patter and chatter, performed with Ben Waltzer’s six-piece jazz band; the hotel’s managing director, Marlene Poynder, said the engagement “always sells out.” Mr.

Mizrahi said he dislikes birthdays and anniversaries and was still writing much of the cabaret weeks before the January opening. He also described persistent stage fright, recounted Liza Minnelli’s onstage advice and said he had considered beta blockers while keeping benzodiazepines mostly off the table so his timing and punchlines stay sharp.

He remains best known for his long fashion career: he grew up in Midwood, Brooklyn, worked at Calvin Klein and Perry Ellis, staged his first runway show in 1987 and saw Chanel back his business in 1992 before withdrawing six years later. He pioneered high-low design for retailers including Target, Liz Claiborne and QVC; Xcel Brands acquired his licensing business in 2011 for a reported $31.5 million and sold it in 2022 to WHP Global in a deal valued at $68 million, and Mr.
