YouTuber Seán William “Jacksepticeye” McLoughlin apologized for remarks he made about Life Is Strange 2’s political commentary during a 2019 playthrough. Don’t Nod’s episodic game follows two Mexican‑American brothers, Sean and Daniel, who flee after a Seattle cop kills their father and Daniel’s emerging telekinetic powers kill the officer.

Along the way the story confronts police brutality, racism, immigration and systemic failures. When he signed off his Let’s Play in 2019, McLoughlin called the writing “pushing one very specific agenda,” saying he was “not the type of person to tackle these sort of political issues” and that he hoped to learn more.

He also complained the game sometimes “is just shining a light on it and then taking the light off immediately.” A recent thread on X collecting “the worst Life Is Strange takes” highlighted comments dismissing the game as unrealistic and too political. One user tagged McLoughlin and asked for an apology; he replied, “Did I really say that?
