James Mangold’s Star Wars project 'Dawn of the Jedi' is reportedly on hold

Polygon reports outgoing Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said James Mangold’s historical Star Wars film about the first Jedi is “on hold.” Kennedy described the Mangold and Beau Willimon script as “incredible,” saying the project, tentatively titled Dawn of the Jedi and set about 25,000 years before the original trilogy, would explore the emergence of the Force and the first Jedi.
