Jasmine Mas reveals cover for 'The Emperor's Enemy,' out Sept. 15, 2026
PEOPLE exclusively revealed the cover of The Emperor's Enemy, the first book in Jasmine Mas' new An Unsurvivable Love duology. Publisher MIRA Books will release The Emperor's Enemy on Sept. 15, 2026, and the title is now available for preorder.
According to an official synopsis, the novel follows Zora Ravenal, a Knight Mage and Bear of the North who is "the only hope of her people against the ravenous empire."
Her chief adversary is Aleksander the Sadistic, described as a divinely ordained Emperor and Royal Mage bent on capturing Zora. The synopsis says the Emperor will use "everything and everyone in his power to possess her, even Tarantula, the deadliest assassin in the empire’s arsenal."
Publisher MIRA teases the story as a "delectably unhinged enemies-to-lovers arc" set in a world of danger, dark magic, rebellion and vicious rivalry.
Mas, the bestselling author of the Villains of Lore and Psycho Shifters series, previously worked as a lawyer and earned a degree in ancient Greco-Roman classical studies from Georgetown University. A release date for the second book in the An Unsurvivable Love series has not yet been announced.
