Jason Momoa’s Lobo takes center in new Supergirl teaser
Polygon reports a new Supergirl teaser spot puts Jason Momoa’s Lobo front and center, arriving on a motorcycle to save Supergirl (Milly Alcock) in footage from James Gunn’s overhauled DCU.
The clip, which resembles a Super Bowl–length TV spot, shows Lobo as loud and brash: he kills people with a massive hook, smokes while driving through explosions, and generally cuts a very cool, irresponsible figure. Momoa was first announced for the role in December 2024 and had previously said in a Fandango interview that Lobo was his favorite comic character and he would be “a fuck yeah” if asked to play him; the actor also posted a short social video from set stepping out of the makeup trailer in costume and saying, “Finally.”
A film synopsis “certainly implies” audiences will see a lot of Momoa’s Lobo and suggests a buddy-comedy–style partnership with Supergirl; the film flies into theaters on June 26. What remains unclear from the teaser is how large a role Lobo will play across the full story beyond the scenes shown.
