Jason Statham Nearly Died Filming The Expendables 3
Jason Statham nearly died while filming The Expendables 3 when the brakes on a truck failed as he was doing his own stunt. He was forced to drive into the Black Sea more than 50 feet deep before he managed to escape, and he credits his physical condition for helping him get out alive.
The Expendables 3 is a 126-minute gun‑fu action thriller in which Statham first played Lee Christmas 12 years ago. The film assembles an ensemble that includes Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Harrison Ford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson and Wesley Snipes. Stallone wrote the screenplay and Patrick Hughes directed.
In America, the movie is streaming on MovieSphere by Lionsgate, and globally it has become one of the most popular VOD purchases in several countries. Statham has had a rocky start to the year with his latest action vehicle bombing at the box office, though his long career suggests it will likely be a minor setback.
