Jean Dujardin’s Zorro Reboot Heads to MHz Choice, Premieres June 30, 2026
MHz Choice has picked up Zorro, an eight-episode limited series starring Academy Award-winning actor Jean Dujardin, and will premiere the show on June 30, 2026, Variety reported.
Described as a "French reimagining" of the classic character, the series casts Zorro as a middle-aged French Don Diego de la Vega who unexpectedly becomes mayor of Los Angeles in 1821 while still holding on to his masked past.
According to the report, the city faces financial problems caused by the greed of local businessman Don Emmanuel (Eric Elmosnino), prompting Diego to don the Zorro mask for the first time in 20 years to help the city while also running it as a maskless mayor.
The series also explores Diego’s need to reconcile his dual identity and to shield his secret from his wife Gabriella, played by Audrey Dana; MovieWeb noted the show hails from France and was acquired for North American streaming by MHz Choice.
MovieWeb’s report ends with "More to come," and further details — including additional cast, episode-level specifics and any wider distribution plans beyond MHz Choice — have not yet been provided.
