Pagesix reports that BLACKPINK star Jennie wore a custom red Maison Margiela Artisanal gown to the 40th Golden Disc Awards in Taipei on Jan. 10, 2026, echoing the dramatic silhouette Kim Kardashian debuted in beige at the Academy Museum Gala in October.

Stylist Sam Woolf shared backstage photos of Jennie in the full hooded ensemble, complete with a crystal-encrusted headpiece, but Jennie removed the face-covering hood before walking the red carpet at the Taipei Dome. Her reworked version kept the severe corset bodice with visible boning and dramatic draped sleeves pooling at the floor, rendered in cherry red, and she wore a custom Antoine necklace featuring a 60-carat pigeon blood ruby and 27 carats of diamonds, reportedly valued at $4 million, according to a post from the jeweler’s CEO. Hairstylist Chris Appleton captioned his Instagram post: “Behind every masked moment is a glam team silently crying 🥹.”

Kardashian kept the mask on when she first wore designer Glenn Martens’ creation and called the nude look “very Skims-y,” and she previously told Variety she had a full face of makeup beneath the hood and flew makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic from New York for the event. Anya Taylor-Joy has also worn the same Margiela silhouette in sheer white without a mask to the Governors Awards in November.
