Jenny and Sara met for a blind date at La Camionera in London E9 and later went on to a queer clubhouse and Dalston Superstore, where they danced until 2am.

Both described strong first impressions: Jenny called Sara “gorgeous and easy to talk to” and praised her intelligence and conversation skills, while Sara said Jenny was “super-smiley” and had already ordered the wine. They talked about travel, art, hobbies and TV (including Married at First Sight), as well as the decline of UK nightlife and how long they’d survive on a desert island.

Awkward moments included a cringe selfie attempt and a comment about travelling—Sara had complained about coming from south London and Jenny revealed she’d travelled from Leeds. Table manners passed the test (Jenny admired Sara getting chewed olive stones into a bowl). Both confirmed they kissed; Jenny said she appreciated being able to kiss Sara “without any fear” and Sara said, “We couldn’t let the bartenders down.”

They scored the date highly: Jenny gave it 10 out of 10, Sara initially gave 9 and on reflection saw no reason not to give Jenny a perfect 10. Jenny said she would meet again if they lived in the same city but both agreed long-distance relationships are rubbish; Sara said she’d love to see Jenny’s drag show and Jenny said she’d be happy to see her if she visits Leeds.
