Jensen Huang teases 'a chip that will surprise the world' at GTC

Nvidia's GTC conference will take place in San Jose between March 16 and 19. Since its start in 2008 the event has focused on what GPUs can do beyond gaming. CEO Jensen Huang has teased a forthcoming reveal, saying, "A chip that will surprise the world will be unveiled at GTC next month." He offered few details.

Observers have pointed to the long-awaited N1X Arm chip for consumer PCs as a likely candidate. Recent coverage places the N1X's release as soon as the end of March, making a GTC deep dive plausible. Nvidia's $100 billion investment plan in OpenAI has reportedly 'stalled'.

When Korean media asked about investments in AI firms like the ChatGPT creator or Anthropic, Huang was evasive, responding, "AI is not just a model; it’s an entire industry encompassing energy, semiconductors, data centers, the cloud, and the applications built on top of it." That answer suggests the company may be widening its focus.
