Jimmy Kimmel Hints ‘Melania’ Box Office Was a ‘Rigged Outcome’
A report from Nytimes says Jimmy Kimmel suggested Amazon’s new documentary 'Melania' had a 'rigged outcome' after a reported $7 million opening weekend.
Kimmel noted that $7 million was less than 10 percent of the reported $75 million Amazon spent on the film, which the report says included paying the first lady at least $28 million. He also cited the film’s 5 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 99 percent audience score, and referred to reports that blocks of tickets were bought and distributed to Republican activists and senior citizens' homes.
Kimmel joked that authorities should investigate, saying 'Send in Tulsi Gabbard and the F.B.I. Seize the ticket machines, the popcorn buckets, the box office receipts at every multiplex in America!'
