Movieweb reports that Jimmy Kimmel won the Best Talk Show category at the Critics Choice Awards and used his acceptance speech to thank President Donald Trump. Kimmel told the audience, "I want to thank our president, Donald Jennifer Trump, without whom we would be going home empty-handed tonight.

So thank you Mr. President for all the many ridiculous things you do each and every day. For you it’s been a banner couple of weeks and we can’t wait to get back on air tomorrow night to talk about them." He also took a jab saying "the FIFA Peace Prize would have been better, but this is nice too," in reference to the controversial Football Association award given to Trump after he lost out on the Nobel Peace Prize to Venezuelan democracy campaigner Maria Corina Machado.

Kimmel additionally thanked Disney CEO Bob Iger and entertainment co-chairman Dana Walden, and mentioned OpenAI boss Sam Altman, saying they now "own my voice and face. Please don’t do anything weird with it," a reference in the article to Disney’s Open AI deal that allows users to create their own videos using Disney-owned characters and franchises in Sora.
