Joe Keery Responds to Green Goblin Casting Rumors
Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington on Stranger Things, says he has his eye on the Spider-Man franchise and wouldn’t rule out playing a villain. In an interview with ScreenRant, Keery noted he’s aware of fan edits casting him as Harry Osborn, aka the Green Goblin, and called the idea “fun to entertain.” When asked if he’ll join his Netflix co-stars in the superhero world he offered a vague reply: “the right thing happens at the right time,” adding, “I guess you just keep your eyes open, and you read a ton and just hope for the best, I guess.
[But] sure. Come on. Where's the script? Let's go.” Several Stranger Things alumni have already crossed into the Marvel Cinematic Universe: David Harbour appeared as Red Guardian in Black Widow, Joseph Quinn showed up as Johnny Storm in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Sadie Sink is set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
