Cbssports NFL insider Jonathan Jones confirms that John Harbaugh has accepted an agreement to become the New York Giants' head coach, ending the search for the franchise's top choice. Harbaugh spent 18 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens from 2008 to 2025, becoming the franchise's winningest coach with 180 wins and winning Super Bowl XLVII to conclude the 2012 season.

The Giants went 4-13 in 2025, marking their eighth campaign with double-digit losses in the last nine years; only the New York Jets have a worse record than the Giants (55-109-1) since 2016. New York still has notable assets, including the fifth overall pick in the 2026 draft, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, running back Cam Skattebo, Pro Bowl receiver Malik Nabers, All-Pro left tackle Andrew Thomas and a defensive line featuring Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Abdul Carter.

Harbaugh's coordinator hires will be critical; NFL Media reported that Todd Monken, Baltimore's offensive coordinator from 2023 to 2025, is expected to rejoin Harbaugh as New York's offensive coordinator. Defensive coordinator and offensive line coach hires remain open, with names such as Aden Durde and Bill Callahan mentioned as fits in the report.
