Jude Bellingham's hamstring injury is worse than first feared, and he looks set to miss England's final camp before Thomas Tuchel names his 26-man World Cup squad. He limped out of a La Liga clash with Rayo Vallecano on February 1, leaving in tears with under 10 minutes remaining after crumpling to the turf while chasing a loose ball and clutching his left leg.

Real Madrid carried out medical assessments and determined no surgery would be required. Initial timescales suggested around five weeks out, with Real hopeful he would be ready for a meeting with Getafe on March 2, but the rehabilitation programme is now expected to take considerably longer and he could be sidelined until early April.

That would rule him out of England's late-March friendlies with Uruguay and Japan and could see him miss key La Liga fixtures and both legs of Real's Champions League knockout play-off with Benfica, possibly keeping him out of a last-16 tie with Manchester City.
