According to Goal, Bayern Munich thumped RB Leipzig 5-1 on Jan 17, 2026, with Harry Kane scoring the second goal as part of a dramatic second-half comeback.

Leipzig led 1-0 at half-time through a Romulo Cardoso strike before Serge Gnabry levelled. In the 67th minute Kane collected a pass from Michael Olise and finished from close range past Peter Gulacsi; Jonathan Tah then headed in a corner for 3-1, Aleksandar Pavlovic added a fourth, and Olise completed the rout with an assist and a goal of his own. The report says Bayern’s unbeaten season continued.

The article adds that Kane has 21 Bundesliga goals in 18 appearances this season, four league assists and 31 goals in 27 matches in all competitions, and became the first player since 1966 to score 20 or more goals in each of his first three Bundesliga seasons. Leipzig captain David Raum had hoped for a different outcome, saying before the game: "They killed us at the start of the season, but this will be a completely different match because we have some new players and are playing in a different way compared to the start of the season," but five unanswered goals left Bayern maintaining an 11-point lead in the title race.
