Karyshma and Arun meet for a Guardian blind date at Parrillan, London
Karyshma and Arun met for a Guardian Blind Date at Parrillan in London SE1.
They found plenty in common, discussing Instagram, books, film, travel, identity, family and even Reggae Reggae crisps. Karyshma said Arun was friendly, punctual and a very good conversationalist who listens and responds thoughtfully; she described him as open, family‑oriented and relatable. Arun said Karyshma had a lovely smile and beautiful eyes, praising her laugh and engagement; both noted good table manners and an awkward moment when neither wanted to finish the last tapas and the waitress had to return a couple of times.
The evening was cut short after Karyshma’s contact lens fell out; Arun walked her to the bus stop and waited. They did not go on elsewhere and there was no kiss. They exchanged numbers—Karyshma gave the date an 8 and said there wasn’t an instant romantic spark but she is happy to see how things develop, and Arun said he would definitely meet again.
