Keke Palmer and Jack Whitehall React to The ‘Burbs Finale Reveal
On June 12, 2025, a small group of outlets visited the Universal Studios Hollywood back lot to see Peacock’s The ‘Burbs, a modern eight-episode whodunnit inspired by Joe Dante’s 1989 film. Keke Palmer, who also serves as an executive producer, and Jack Whitehall star as Samira and Rob Fisher, a new-parent couple whose marriage anchors the neighborhood mystery.
The series was filmed on the back lot’s Colonial Street (now dressed as Ashfield Place) and peppers the set with nods to the movie while establishing its own identity. The show follows Samira and Rob after they move into Rob’s childhood cul-de-sac, where a creepy new neighbor in a foreboding Victorian—Gary, played by Justin Kirk—provokes suspicion.
A trio of nosy residents, Lynn, Dana and Tod, join Samira in unraveling what’s happening in Hinkley Hills; the ensemble is deliberately diverse and each character carries secrets that unfold across the season. At its core the series centers on Samira and Rob rediscovering each other as new parents.
