Kelli Giddish says Benson and Rollins’ ideal girls’ night is simply being together
Nbc reports Kelli Giddish told The Drew Barrymore Show on January 20 that her Law & Order: Special Victims Unit character Sergeant Amanda Rollins and Mariska Hargitay’s Captain Olivia Benson would prefer an ideal girls’ night of doing “nothing.” “Just sitting beside each other, just staring out at the same place,” Giddish said.
The question was posed by Hargitay during a segment that echoed a classic SVU interrogation scene and was teased on social media the day before. Giddish also joked the duo might enjoy “getting a head massage,” a remark Drew Barrymore called “well deserved.” Hargitay has portrayed Benson for 27 seasons, according to the segment.
Giddish additionally reflected on her SVU beginnings, saying she debuted in the Season 13 premiere “Scorched Earth” (2011), remembered being eager to work and meeting Mariska for the first time, and described Rollins as excited to join Benson at what she called the best SVU unit. Fans can catch SVU Thursdays at 9/8c, with new episodes available on Peacock the following day.
