Chicago P.D.'s Kevin Atwater learns Tasha Fox is pregnant in Season 13

In the January 28 Season 13 episode "On the Way," Chicago P.D.'s Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) gets life-changing news when Tasha Fox (Karen Obilom) reveals she is pregnant.

The episode follows Atwater through a tense investigation involving street-racing criminals, designer sports cars, a string of homicides and a white-knuckled undercover mission as he wrestles with what he wants from his future. Showrunner Gwen Sigan told NBC Insider the season explores an Atwater throughline of "discovering maybe there is 'more that I wanted than what I have.'"

The pregnancy revelation follows Atwater's earlier reunion with Tasha in the Season 13 episode "Miami," when the two, who knew each other from the Academy, hooked up before Tasha moved to Miami and left him an orange and an invitation to visit.

In "On the Way," Atwater, still thinking about Tasha, finally reaches out after a difficult arrest. Tasha arrives with a suitcase and her Miami badge, teases him about looking for a "very sexy" man with "soulful brown eyes," then tells him, "I'm pregnant," adding she wants the baby whether he's in their lives or not. Atwater is stunned, then clearly pleased at the prospect of becoming a father.

What this will mean for Atwater's future in the Intelligence Unit remains unclear; viewers can follow developments on Season 13, Wednesdays at 10/9c on NBC and the next day on Peacock.
