Kevin Costner's $411 Million Action Romance Is Trending Again
The Bodyguard (1992), starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston, has reappeared on streaming charts, surfacing on MGM+ as the platform's tenth most-watched title, just behind Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. Kaley Cuoco and Sam Claflin's miniseries Vanished tops the list.
The film is also trending on the iTunes chart in Lebanon. Directed by Mick Jackson and written by Lawrence Kasdan, The Bodyguard was the second-highest-grossing film of 1992 despite receiving mostly unfavorable reviews from critics. The cast includes Whitney Houston in her film acting debut alongside Gary Kemp, Bill Cobbs, Ralph Waite and others.
Costner plays Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service agent who served on the Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan details and is hired by Bill Devaney to protect pop diva Rachel Marron from an obsessive stalker. Farmer's strict security measures initially meet resistance, but he and Rachel grow closer as they spend time together.
