Kevin Smith confirmed that Jay and Silent Bob will return in a new film titled Jay and Silent Bob: Store Wars, he told Collider while promoting the re-release of his film Dogma.

Smith said he was able to finance the picture and outlined its plot as a stoner-comedy take on Spy vs. Spy: the duo, who now run a legal dispensary following the events of Clerks III, face a rival dispensary across the street and spend the movie fighting and trying to destroy one another. He described it as "a stoner comedy, man, of the highest order," and noted that he and Jason Mewes have been playing the characters for 32 years.

Smith said the project is still being assembled and is in the casting stages, with the other two characters described as much younger opposites to Jay and Silent Bob. Jay and Silent Bob: Store Wars is in pre-production and has not yet set a release date; Smith's remarks came during promotion of Dogma's re-release, which followed the Weinsteins selling the rights and led to new physical, streaming and theatrical availability for that film.
