Kevin Stefanski named Atlanta Falcons head coach
The Atlanta Falcons have hired Kevin Stefanski as their next coach, the team announced on Saturday, Cbssports reported. The move is the franchise's first major step since naming Matt Ryan president of football earlier this month. Stefanski replaces Raheem Morris. He was fired Jan.
5 by the Cleveland Browns after six seasons, posting a 45-56 record with two postseason appearances and winning the AP Coach of the Year award twice, though he went 8-26 combined over the last two seasons and immediately became a hot commodity on the coaching market. Falcons president Matt Ryan said in a statement Stefanski is a "lead-by-example" leader who emphasizes fundamentals, toughness, accountability and collaboration across the football operation.
The Falcons will hope Stefanski can help their offense improve from 2025 when they finished 24th in the NFL in scoring. Cleveland's offense also struggled in Stefanski's last two seasons, finishing in the bottom two in scoring both years, and many around the league point to the quarterback rotation rather than coaching.
