Kianna Underwood, former Nickelodeon performer, dies at 33 after Brooklyn hit-and-run
Pagesix reported that Nickelodeon performer Kianna Underwood has died after being struck in a hit-and-run in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The Deputy Commissioner of Public Information confirmed police responded to a 911 call at approximately 6:49 a.m. local time.
The deputy’s statement said, "A preliminary investigation determined a gray vehicle was traveling west bound and struck an unidentified female," and that she had "sustained severe trauma to the head and body." Emergency medical services pronounced her deceased on scene, and the statement added the operator of the vehicle "did not remain on scene." No arrests have been made and investigations remain ongoing.
Underwood, who was born in New York City, began acting at age 7 and got her break in 2005 when she joined the cast of Nickelodeon's All That in its 10th season. She also spent a year on the first national tour of Hairspray as Little Inez and voiced Fuchsia on the Nick Jr. show Little Bill. Following her short stint on TV, she returned to New York City and was living a private life; in 2023 a video surfaced on social media in which she appeared to be struggling, and in the clip she identified herself, saying, "Kianna Underwood from 'All That' on Nickelodeon." It is unclear where she was living or if she was working.
