Kleberson says Messi is building a 'private MLS' as Neymar and Ronaldo are linked
Former MLS player Kleberson has told Goal that Lionel Messi wants to bring “everyone” to MLS and is forming his own “private league”, with Inter Miami linked to further marquee signings including Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Kleberson noted that Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, Luis Suárez and Rodrigo De Paul have already joined Messi in Florida and said Neymar could still move to Inter Miami, adding: “I believe, 100 per cent, that if he needs to move then the only league he can go to is MLS.” Ex‑USMNT goalkeeper Brad Friedel previously said a Neymar move could work if the forward is fit, suggested a tiered contract tied to availability and form, and added he would be “55 for it and 45 against.”
Kleberson also hoped Cristiano Ronaldo could be convinced to spend at least one season alongside Messi, saying: “In one locker room - Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and maybe Neymar. It’s a dream team!” Inter Miami boosted their profile with an MLS Cup triumph in 2025 and, with co‑owner David Beckham involved, have pursued a ‘Galáctico’ recruitment approach; it remains unclear which, if any, of the linked moves will materialise.
