Konami confirms Silent Hill: Townfall as its 'brand-new Silent Hill'
Konami has confirmed that Silent Hill: Townfall is its 'brand-new Silent Hill' title. The company is co-publishing the game with Annapurna, and Screen Burn Interactive (formerly known as No Code) is handling development.
Townfall was announced in 2022 at the same time as the interactive TV series Ascension, but Konami remained silent about the project for four years. In a 2025 post announcing its name change, Screen Burn said Townfall was first conceived in 2020 and added 'we can’t wait to share more,' noting the studio is a small team making a big game.
After roughly six years of active development there is still no release date, no gameplay details, and only about a minute of trailer footage. The announcement comes amid a mixed recent history for the franchise, from the promising Silent Hill 1 remake and the disastrous Return to Silent Hill film to middling Silent Hill: Downpour (2012) and the awful Ascension series (2023).
