Taylor Sheridan began his career in film with titles such as Sicario, Wind River and Hell or High Water before turning his attention to television with Yellowstone in 2018. He has since expanded beyond Yellowstone’s offshoots like 1883 and 1923, developing gritty dramas including Mayor of Kingstown (featuring Jeremy Renner), Tulsa King (led by Sylvester Stallone) and Landman (starring Billy Bob Thornton).

One of Sheridan’s quieter successes is Lawmen: Bass Reeves, an eight-part Western miniseries that follows one of the great frontier heroes and one of the first Black marshals west of the Mississippi. David Oyelowo leads the cast, joined by Dennis Quaid and the late Donald Sutherland.

All episodes premiered on Paramount+ in 2023 and the series still ranks in the top 10 in several countries. Sheridan’s slate remains busy. His next two projects, Marshals and The Madison, are set to premiere on March 1 and March 14, respectively.
