Polygon reports that Animal Crossing: New Horizons' 3.0 update is filling the game's new Resort Hotels with visitors, and players are noticing a strong tilt toward Lazy villagers among early guests.

The Resort, run by Kapp'n and his turtle family, lets players host a rotating cast of visitors and decorate guest rooms similar to the Happy Home Paradise DLC. Fans say many of the first guests are Lazy — one of eight major personality types in New Horizons (Snooty, Peppy, Cranky, Jock, Smug, Sisterly, Normal, and Lazy). Lazy villagers are typically described as male, jovial, easygoing, and notably the only type reported not to freak out at a cockroach; the game includes 63 Lazy villagers out of 412 possible characters, including Bob and Lucky. Any guest can roam the island and visit locations like the museum and Nook's Cranny.

Players on Reddit, X and community forums mostly report seeing Lazy villagers as their first Resort guests, though it may be too early to say whether other types are unavailable. If you prefer specific visitors you can import guests via Amiibo cards, and you can still decorate rooms and earn tickets regardless of whether you like the guest; fan polls and tier lists also note that some species, such as gorillas, rank low in popularity and can draw groans when they appear.
