Lenox and Ripley unexpectedly hook up after Gaffney hostage ordeal
Nbc reports that Dr. Caitlin Lenox (Sarah Ramos) and Dr. Mitch Ripley (Luke Mitchell) unexpectedly hooked up on Chicago Med Season 11 after growing closer in the wake of a violent fall-finale hostage incident.
The pair had saved a domestic abuse victim and agreed to cover up a murder after being held hostage, an event that left Ripley rattled while Lenox acted as if nothing had happened. Showrunner Allen MacDonald said the writers were excited about exploring how the two would work together and push each other to be better doctors, and he noted that Ripley suspects Lenox is silently struggling amid her ongoing health crisis.
The hookup followed a heated confrontation in which Ripley challenged Lenox’s lack of emotion; she silenced him with a kiss and the two later hooked up in a Gaffney supply closet. MacDonald said Ripley will sense a “churning volcano” of emotion in Lenox and push at her secrecy, but he does not yet know about her prion disease diagnosis.
