Zdnet got hands-on with LG's G5 and G4 OLED TVs to compare their features, performance and real-world practicality. The review says the G4 stands out for color accuracy and overall picture quality, with support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos and dedicated picture modes including Filmmaker Mode.

It also supports Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium VRR with a boost up to 144Hz, has a 0.1ms response time, and a sleek brushed-metal design with narrow bezels, Bluetooth, integrated voice controls and preloaded streaming apps. The G5 employs a tandem OLED stack of two independent layers to increase peak brightness — the review notes it can reach toward the 3,000 to 4,000 nit range — and supports a 165Hz boost, Dolby Vision, VRR and Dolby Atmos.

However, the reviewer found the tandem panel sometimes reduced fine detail, producing a fuzzy haze and duller colors compared with a control screen.
