Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior revealed he cleared a number of his players to travel during a mid-season pause, with Cole Palmer among those who jetted to Dubai. Palmer missed the FA Cup win over Hull City and was not even named among the substitutes, and is expected back for the upcoming Premier League match against Burnley.

Rosenior said he had reviewed the squad’s schedule over the past 18 months to two years and encouraged players to get some sun and switch off as a way to rejuvenate. Palmer shared snaps from his trip with partner Olivia Holder, spending time on the beach and enjoying high-end experiences while gifting Holder a large bouquet of roses and a Chanel bag; he also met up with friend Tunde during the visit.

Other Blues who travelled to the UAE included Enzo Fernandez, Pedro Neto, Joao Pedro and Trevoh Chalobah, who shared a private jet.
