Life is Strange: Reunion reunites Max and Chloe, out March 26th
Pcgamer reports that Life is Strange: Reunion will bring Max Caulfield and Chloe Price back together for a final adventure, and is slated to launch on March 26th. According to the announcement, Max—now a photography instructor at Caledon University—uses her time-reversing Rewind power to escape an inferno that devastates the school and kills many friends and colleagues.
Thrown three days into the past, she must discover the fire's cause, stop it and save her friends, a task complicated by the unexpected return of Chloe, described as a "shocking repercussion" of events in the previous game. For the first time in the series both Max and Chloe are playable, with perspective alternating as the story progresses, and publisher Square Enix said player choices will have consequences "that affect the outcome of a dramatic and surprising narrative," "all culminating in an epic climax that serves as a finale to the Max and Chloe saga." The game is being developed by Deck Nine.
The article notes Deck Nine made two rounds of layoffs in 2025, the second a couple of months after the release of Double Exposure; former narrative designer Elizabeth Ballou wrote in a since-deleted Bluesky message, "we all got laid off." Double Exposure was also reportedly a "large loss" for Square Enix, although apparently not so much that it prevented the creation of another game.
