Lindsey Vonn: "No Regrets" After Olympics Crash
After her comeback bid fell short while suffering a devastating injury at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, Lindsey Vonn broke her silence about competing despite an ACL tear a little over a week earlier. The 41-year-old's run in the women's downhill ended seconds after it began when she lost control, crashed and sustained a complex tibia fracture, requiring air-lifted medical attention.
The injury came nine days after she tore her ACL in a World Cup downhill race in Switzerland, ending her hopes of bringing home another Olympics medal to add to the three she already has from past Games. In a February 9 Instagram post, Vonn said she had "no regrets." "Yesterday my Olympic dream did not finish the way I dreamt it would," she wrote.
"It wasn’t a story book ending or a fairy tale, it was just life. I dared to dream and had worked so hard to achieve it.
